'YOU & I' - SAN DEMAS

TRACK REVIEW BY DANI EVANS

San Demas are a UK-based melodic metal band made up of Lucy Parish on vocals, Rich McKee on guitar, Maz Manzini on bass, and Vid Dahiya on drums. Since forming in 2021, they’ve been building a solid reputation for blending melodic rock and metal — and their latest track "You & I" shows exactly why they're gaining attention.

"You & I" opens with Rich’s sharp, driving guitar work, setting a tone that’s powerful yet catchy. The instrumental backdrop creates a strong foundation without overshadowing the vocals, giving the song a balanced, cohesive feel.

Lucy’s vocals really carry the song. She moves effortlessly between soft vulnerability and strength, with a chorus that’s bold and infectious — the kind that stays with you long after the track ends. There’s real emotional weight behind her delivery, which gives the track an authentic edge.

The breakdown halfway through is a highlight. It’s atmospheric without losing momentum, with Rich’s guitar work adding depth while the song retains its intimate feel. The rhythm section, with Vid’s solid drumming and Maz’s subtle bass lines, complements the intensity of the song without distracting from its overall impact. The production is crisp and balanced — nothing feels overproduced, and each element has room to breathe.

"You & I" is a strong, well-crafted track that balances emotion and intensity without trying too hard. It’s got that big, scream-along energy, but there’s also enough subtlety to keep you coming back for another listen.
